a theatre founded by the community, for the community.
Virginia Stage Company is southeastern Virginia's premier non-profit professional theatre. It was founded in 1978 by members of the Hampton Roads community, bringing high quality productions and both local and national artists and artisans to the regional stage.
overview
Virginia Stage Company (VSC) received a grant along with other local organizations who faced a challenge with inclusivity and equity in order for them to reflect, evaluate and grow in those areas. The overarching goal was gather feedback and input and start building a plan guiding VSC toward a more inclusive and equitable future in the arts and the Hampton Roads community at large.
