black and brown women igniting holistic paths toward inclusive futures.

MAAD Thought is a collective of black and brown women and allies of different backgrounds and interests coming together to research and advocate for climate justice from a holistic, intersectional and interdependent lens. It is also a movement, a call for these melanated communities to explore, reclaim and embrace spaces as a beautiful and essential part of their present, ancestries and futures.

overview

A newly formed collective, MAAD Thought needed to define its mission, identify its unique value propositions, and get organized for funding and project participation. With an emphasis on holistic, intersectional lenses and approaches, the group wants to empowering black and brown communities to reclaim spaces and be a part of decision-making processes for more inclusive development initiatives and other actions that impact environmental justice. MAAD Thought could become a transformative force in the environmental justice landscape, with an aim to make traditionally inaccessible spaces both realized and activated as part of the present, ancestries, and futures of melanated communities.
